I have heard about this restaurant from just about everyone but I wasn’t prepared for just how wonderful it was. From the minute you enter with their living plant walls and welcoming brick you feel at home. All of their food is locally sourced and carefully curated. We started with drinks; I had a Negroni (Campari, Juniper Jones gin) and I don’t even like gin and I loved this drink! The more the block cubes melted the better it got. Joe had some local beers which always hit the spot.
We ordered the mushroom and dumplings and the burger for dinner…they were both complete heaven. The briny mushroom broth was made from my favorite local mushrooms Hazel Dell; they are so earthy and unctuous. The burger was everything it should be; full of cheesy crispy goodness.
I am not one to order dessert but we were celebrating a special event so we indulged. It was a luscious brown can cake topped with burnt caramel sauce, homemade vanilla ice cream and crunchy toffee bits.
They have an amazing happy hour so I cannot wait to head there this week…it’s the perfect time for everyone to give The Regional a try!
