From patriotic parades to mountain fireworks, these are the best 4th of July events in Northern Colorado.
Looking for 4th of July events or things to do? Spend Independence Day keeping cool out at one of the best lakes near Fort Collins or hanging at the best breweries and having fun at these celebratory, neighborhood events. The best part about some of these 4th of July events? You can end the evening with a patriotic bang of dazzling fireworks in the night sky.
4th of July Celebration⎪On July 4th spend the afternoon enjoying hiking, bike riding, paddle boating, miniature or real-size golf and all the adventures Estes Park has to offer.
- The Big Bang! Concert is everything you are looking for in one location! A view of the fireworks along with music, food, local craft beer and wine at the Estes Park Fairgrounds in the grandstands. Buy tickets here.
- The Fireworks Show starts around 9 over Lake Estes. You won’t want to miss one of Colorado’s most glorious fireworks displays! Find a grassy spot at Stanley Park, along the Lake Estes Trail or on your favorite mountainside to join in this annual tradition of national pride.
Independence Day Community Celebration⎪The City of Fort Collins and Elevations Credit Union are happy to host the 2022 Independence Day Community Celebration on Saturday, July 2 with a full day of family-friendly events and activities. the City will host a day of festivities in Fort Collins, with activities including the Firecracker 5K, Stars & Stripes Golf Tournament, parade, food truck rally and more! The day will conclude with fireworks at City Park.

Old-Fashioned Fourth Of July At The 1879 Avery House⎪Celebrate an old-fashioned Fourth of July at the 1879 Avery House, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 328 W. Mountain Ave. Admission is free and offers fun for all ages. This event is a great 4th of July activity for the family as there is no city parade this year! Featuring music by the McDaileys and Capo Zero featuring members of The Bluegrass Patriots. Enjoy listening to music, play old-fashioned games such as croquet, pin the tail on the donkey, and bean bag toss; make crafts. Enjoy the on-site food trucks. Make plans now to come and celebrate! Independence Day Parade⎪9-11am. July 4. 10th Avenue- UNC to Downtown Greeley
Greeley Stampede Fireworks⎪To enjoy the fireworks show, the Greeley Stampede is asking community members to watch from a distance. The fireworks are visible from up to 10 miles away from the park, so there are a number of options around the Greeley area to view the show. The fireworks on July 4th, 2020 will begin at approximately 9:30pm, weather dependent and will go on for approximately 20 minutes. Island Grove Park, 501 N 14th Ave, Greeley, CO
Fireworks, Your Family, and the 4th of July⎪Historically, the City has partnered with the Longmont Skyline Kiwanis to provide a community fireworks show on July 4th. This year’s show will return to the Fox Hill Country Club.
What you need to know about attending the community fireworks event:
5:30 pm: Event gate opens
5:30 pm – 9:15 pm: Food trucks available
7 pm – 9 pm: Hazel Miller concert
9:15 pm – 9:30 pm: Kiwanis fireworks display
10:30 pm: Event gate closes

Loveland Liberty 5K⎪This race is for all ages and abilities! Welcome to Northern Colorado’s favorite community-based running club, Sweetheart City Racing! See you at the finish line at the Liberty 5K! 8-10:30am on July 4. Fairgrounds Park, 700 South Railroad Avenue, Loveland, CO
Fourth of July Fireworks⎪Entry to the fireworks viewing at the Ranch is free and gates at the south entrance will open for vehicle entry at 6 p.m. This year, close to 4,000 parking spaces will be available at the Ranch Events Complex, and partners from last year’s event are helping make adjacent properties available as alternate viewing locations. Patrons are encouraged to visit parking lots outside of the Ranch first, as wait times for entry and exit will be significantly less.
The Fireworks show will start at approximately 9:15 p.m. and conclude around 9:35 p.m. Onsite snack trucks will be available with options for purchase, and patriotic music will be played by Big Rob on local radio station 96.1 KISSFM to accompany the show and provide the full drive-in experience. 4th of July Celebration⎪They’re excited to invite Timnath residents to celebrate Independence Day at Timnath’s 4th of July Celebration on Monday, July 4 at the Timnath Reservoir! Enjoy live entertainment, a variety of family activities, and delicious eats from local food trucks. Festivities kick off at 6 p.m. with live music from Johnny and the Mongrels, followed by Atomic Fusion Initiative. The night will end with a pyro-musical and spectacular firework show over the reservoir, beginning at 9:30 p.m. Timnath Reservoir, Timnath CO

July 4 Celebration⎪ Music will be from 5:30 p.m.- 9:20 p.m. and is presented by the 101st Army Band. The band performance will honor and celebrate veterans, and communicate the mission of the Colorado National Guard to the community. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy live music at the Boardwalk Park Bandshell prior to the annual fireworks display!
Fireworks⎪Fireworks are returning to Boardwalk Park for on-site viewing, weather permitting. Fireworks will launch shortly after 9:15 p.m.
