Free Mulch Day⎪The City of Fort Collins Forestry Division is offering free wood mulch to City of Fort Collins residents. The mulch will be loaded by Forestry personnel into open-top pickup trucks or trailers using a front end loader.*Remain in your vehicle at all times. If you must exit your vehicle for any reason, including to cover your truck bed or trailer with a tarp after mulch has been loaded, observe the minimum recommended physical distancing of 6 feet from other individuals at all times. Face covering will be worn by all working the event and should be worn by all attending the event. You must bring tarp to cover and secure mulch to prevent scattering during transportation. 14th Annual Starter Barter and Plant Sale⎪Trade or sell your starts. Veggie, fruit, herb, and flower starts will be available for sale, barter, and trade. Kentucky Derby Party⎪2nd Annual Rooftop Derby Party! May Bird Banding⎪Join seasoned birder, Sheila Webber of the Ft. Collins Audubon Society, and Scott Rashid, Director of the Colorado Avian Research and Rehabilitation Institute at the High Plains Environmental Center from 2:00 to 4:00 pm where you will start at the visitor’s center with the guided bird walk with Sheila around Equalizer Lake, and immediately afterward, watch and learn about bird banding with Scott. This is an outdoor event and will be held weather permitting. If cancelled due to weather, (snow, rain, or extreme wind/cold) registrants will be notified the day before. Attendees are encouraged to bring binoculars, dress in layers, wear walking shoes, and bring a water bottle. This event is for all ages. Under 16 must be accompanied by adult registrant.
