Tips For Staging Your Kitchen
We could not be more excited to be partnering with the wonderful Anne Carlson to bring you all some tips and tricks for staging your homes. We are Ivy Lane Home Staging – offering consultations, styling, vacant staging and photo prep along the northern front range of Colorado.
Now let’s get to it! Today we’re sharing some tips for staging kitchens. For any room you’re staging, it’s important to keep in mind the overall goal of the space. While the goal of a living room might be a cozy spot for the family to gather and spend quality time, the kitchen should feel like a blank slate. We want to keep staging in this room minimal and purposeful.
The goal is for buyers to be able to visualize room for storage, ample counter space and a clean environment. We aim to draw the eye toward the most promising features of the room. If your kitchen boasts a massive island, we would bring attention to it with some greenery and amazing pieces of pottery or dining sets. We love including beautiful, dramatic centerpieces (don’t shoot the messenger, but the bowls full of balls are a little played out).
If your kitchen is on the smaller, quaint side we would play that up with cozy, nostalgic staging — some cute bowls on the counter and smaller scale pieces to highlight but not overwhelm the space.
More than the staging of the room, making sure your kitchen is immaculately clean and clear of any personal items is absolutely critical since kitchens tend to be one of the most important rooms in the home.
